Who Qualifies

Grower certification is available to farmers who grow chile within the recognized Hatch Valley growing region of New Mexico. There is no minimum acreage requirement to apply; dues are calculated on the size of your certified Hatch chile operation.

Dues Structure

Annual grower dues are $10 per acre of Hatch chile grown, with a minimum of $250 per year. Dues are assessed at the time of certification and again at each annual renewal.

What Certification Includes

  • License to use the HATCH seal. Display the Certified Hatch mark on your crops, packaging, signage, and marketing materials to verify origin at the point of sale.
  • Voting membership in the Association. Certified growers become voting members of the Hatch Chile Association and have a direct voice in how the certification program is governed.
  • Listing eligibility. Certified growers are eligible for inclusion in the Association's certified-producer directory, giving buyers a direct path to verified Hatch Valley sources.

Annual Renewal

Certification lasts one year. Growers must renew annually and confirm continued operation within the Hatch Valley growing region. The renewal process keeps dues current and ensures only active, compliant growers carry the seal.
